Together with my content-writing and translation services, I offer services as an English-only proofreader.
This means that I look over a text that’s either a translation from the Spanish or written originally in English.
Then I make changes wherever necessary, but only from the perspective of a proofreader and end reader (rather than from that of an editor, who looks at the translated text with reference to the original). I then follow best practices for clear, concise, cohesive, and compelling content.
In addition, I follow the guidelines and criteria of English-language style and usage manuals, such as Garner’s Modern English Usage (5th ed.), which is my preferred companion.
